Additional Programs OfferedGrowl-y Class: This class is designed for dogs that bark, snarl and become manic at the sight of another dog while on a leash walk with their owner. These dogs may or may not be fine with other dogs when off leash but become fearful and aggressive when on leash. Class size is limited to 3 dogs and participation is at the trainers discretion only. The trainer will meet with the owner and the dog individually and a decision will be made at that point as to whether or not the dog/owner team should sign up for Growl-y Class.
All students must provide proof of vaccination for their dog for Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordetella to participate in class.
Classes are held throughout the week in the mornings evenings and weekends. All classes are held at our facility on Orchard Mesa at 2591 B 3/4 Rd, Grand Junction, 81503.
The classes are 1 hour long and the fee of $160 covers all 6 weeks of training.

Door Darting Does your dog make a run for it everytime you open the front door and go on a fieldtrip?! Then this 2 week class is for you. It's designed esxpecially for door darters and teaches your dog how to wait at doorways until invited through by you. The training technique is taught using clicker training. The first week discusses the theory and principle behind clicker training, and is a handson workshop in conditioning your dog to the clicker. Then we start the behavior modification process. A Daily homework handout is provided for use at home. The second week provides the opportunity for more challenging exercises such as visitors at the door. Clickers are provided. The classes are 1 hour in length and the fee of $40 covers both weeks.All students must provide proof of vaccination for their dog for Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordetella to participate in class. Refresher Class
This class provides a great opportunity to meet with the trainer and brush up on previously learned skills from the Basic and Intermediate Classes that may need polishing in a controlled environment. You choose the skill to be worked on and you decide how many classes you want to attend. One or four...it's totally up to you. The fee for each class is $20. Class times are Saturday mornings at 11 am and are limited to 3 students per class. Private Lessons Occassionally private lessons at the owners home, or at our facility on Orchard Mesa are needed or desired by the client. These lessons may be private basic obedience skills preparing the pet for life changes like the impending arrival of a baby or they may address inappropriate behavior exhibited by the pet. Some examples of inappropriate behavior include aggression to people or other pets in the home, running away, or indiscriminant litter box use by cats. Goals are discussed and a training plan is laid out to achieve these goals. Private lessons vary in time from one hour to three hours depending on the situation and on the goals to be met. Weekly or bi-monthly appointments are made and are paid for at a rate of $75 an hour. A $10 travel fee per visit applies for areas outside of Grand Junction city limits (Fruita, Palisade, & Glade Park).

Board and Train Occasionally an owners lifestyle requires that their pet be trained away from home at a boarding facility. Angels in the Making has teamed up with Orchard Mesa Veterinary Hospital (www.omvets.com) to allow this opportunity. A discussion of goals to be met determines how long the pet will need to stay at the boarding/training facility ranging from 2 weeks to 4 weeks. A minimum of 3 sessions is required with the owner and the dog following the dog's stay at the facility and is included in the fee. Prices range according to goals and time needed to acheive these goals starting at $600 for training. The Boarding fee is additional.
